Patrick made it to D.C. just fine. His connecting flight out of Atlanta was delayed due to weather in D.C., but he got there eventually, and the LeadAmerica representative was still waiting for him on his arrival.

Patrick called tonight after a long, stressful day of flying, finding his way around the Atlanta airport (which is absolutely huge, but all in all not a bad airport), flight delays, opening ceremonies, evening briefings, getting settled into his dorm room and meeting his roommate for the next 10 days.  I have a feeling he’ll sleep like a rock tonight ~ at least I hope he will because he’s going to need all of the sleep and energy he can get!

This morning was an early one for Patrick ~ he got up, showered, dressed, made sure he had packed everything he needed, and loaded all his luggage into the Suburban by 6:45. Trust me, that’s E.A.R.L.Y. (he usually sleeps until 10:00 or 11:00am). Plus, he spent the entire day in a suit and tie. He was concerned about getting into D.C. late (good call on his part) and he wanted to be dressed in the "appropriate" clothing for the evening activities. Tomorrow will be a business dress day, so he’ll get to wear a polo and khakis all day instead of a professional suit and tie. When Roger and I talked to him tonight, he seemed pretty relieved that he wouldn’t have to wear a suit and tie again all day tomorrow ~ and who could blame him?! (To this day, I still think one of the reasons Roger became an AF pilot was so he wouldn’t have to wear suits. LOL)

We reminded Patrick to take lots of pictures. We shall see……..
